Exciting News! Thunderbird Farm is Now a Non-Profit!

We’re thrilled to share that Thunderbird Farm has officially received Non-Profit Organization (NPO) status! This means we can expand our mission to support Indigenous cultural education, sustainable farming, and farm animal care.

But we need your help.

Your donation will go towards:

Indigenous workshops & teachings – Helping us share traditional knowledge and sustainable farming practices.

Farm animal care & infrastructure – Ensuring our rescued and working farm animals have a safe, nurturing home.

Community learning spaces – Creating a place where Indigenous educators, artisans, and farmers can connect and teach.

Every contribution—big or small—helps us honor our culture, protect our animals, and build a stronger community.

"Amazing place, stay, and hosts. We had a huge family gathering at the farm, spending four nights over Christmas (thanks for the tree Laurie!). Ages 2 to 85, all beds in use. You can tell that the Laurie and Brooks have invested a lot of care, love and money into creating a home away from home. My brothers were doing all kinds of fancy, from-scratch cooking and this kitchen is incredibly well stocked for preparing and serving meals. There are also lots of games puzzles and books. We absolutely loved looking after the animals, and the delicious fresh eggs everyday, after the initial learning curve for us city slickers. Laurie and Brooks were quick to answer all our questions, in addition to providing a thorough guide book.
We all had an amazing time here, despite the weather being damp and foggy the whole time. I bet it would be even more fun in the other seasons, or in a proper snowy winter. Loved the proximity to Toronto too. Thanks Laurie and Brooks!"
